Inspired by Susan's Guardian article, "Police Killed Their Sons...," KSHB-NBC TV news anchor Caitlin Knute interviewed Susan and featured the two mothers from her book, Mothers in Arms, on the primetime broadcast. Knute's story, "Bonded by Tragedy," won a 2022 Emmy Award.
